Graphene-based end-of-life sensors for fire protective fabrics research collaboration with the University of Alberta

Imagine and the University of Alberta are collaborating with Canadian textile manufacturers to demonstrate end-of-life sensors for fire protective fabrics for first responders. This novel project is led by Prof Patrica Dolez and co-funded by the Canadian government through Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) as a three year Strategic Partnership Grant (SPG) of C$569,500.

The project was announced by the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport.

“When researchers, businesses, and governments work together, they can turn their discoveries into the innovations that will improve the lives of all Canadians. That is why our government is investing in the partnerships that will bring our best and brightest together. When we invest in science and research, we invest in us all.”
– The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport
